NJFPL provider family planning health centers are located in all 21 counties of New Jersey. Services are available to anyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, how much money you make or whether or not you have health insurance. Find your nearest health center here.
Title X
What is Title X?
Title X (pronounced Title Ten) is a federally funded program designed to deliver reproductive and preventative health care services to women, men and adolescents
Who qualifies for Title X services?
Anyone who wants to prevent or achieve a pregnancy qualifies for Title X family planning services.
Family Planning Services (FP)
What can I expect from a FP provider?
When visiting a family planning clinic, you can expect to have all your reproductive health concerns addressed. Depending on your age, medical history and health concerns, your examination may include STI testing, a pelvic examination, a breast examination, and sometimes a pregnancy test. Our clinical staff will provide you with information on your reproductive health, answer any questions you have and refer you for additional care if needed.
What types of birth control can I ask about?
You can ask and learn about any type of birth control that interests you. Our health centers offer a wide variety of birth control methods and supplies. including birth control pills, “the shot,” “the ring,” the patch, IUDs and implants.
How much do birth control pills cost?
Birth control at NJFPL provider health centers is offered at low or no cost, depending on your income. The cost of birth control pills depends on the type and manufacturer. Call your local health center to learn more about your birth control options. Find your local health center here.
How is a sexually transmitted infection test done?
In most cases your STI screening test will be done by collecting your urine or blood; however, there are some tests that require using a special cotton swab to collect a body fluid. During your visit, your healthcare provider will discuss what tests you need.

Do I need permission from a parent or guardian to be seen in a NJFPL provider health center?
No.
Can I receive care if I don’t have health insurance?
Yes, you can receive care at our health centers even if you do not have health insurance. Our health centers offer family planning services to all regardless of your ability to pay.
I need more birth control; how can I get it without having to go for an in-office visit?
Telemedicine services are available for access to some types of birth control. Not all birth control methods are available by telemedicine though. Call your local health center to learn more about your birth control options. Find your local health center here.
Where can I get a breast or cervical cancer screening?
All NJFPL provider family planning health centers offer clinical breast exams, referral for mammograms when needed, Pap tests and HPV testing.
Where can I get PrEP?
All NJFPL health centers provide Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services to prevent HIV transmission. Talk to your healthcare provider about whether the medication is right for you. They can also help you with insurance or Medicaid coverage or with payment assistance to make PrEP low or no cost, depending on your income.
